Last night's auction yielded a great stoneware collection. Four different pieces. One open mouth crock with bale handle, one crock marked Wm. Hare Wilmington, Delaware, one ink bottle, and my favorite, the large brown jug with a leather topped cork.

Lockey and Howland table top apple peeler

Patented mid 1850's is this table top apple peeler manufactured by Lockey and Howland. It is missing an arm, but just look at those gears! Maybe you can't use it to peel an apple, but it will make a great display piece.

My husband and I are decidedly "dog people" In all the years we have been together, we have owned one cat, a pretty tiger colored cat that looked just like this one! We didn't go out looking for a cat, but she found us. I came home one day and there was this tiny little kitten, only about 5 weeks old hiding under the tractor in the garage. I bought a great lot of these hand carved wooden sap spiles. Each one is different and unique. Then while making room in my storage trailer, I discovered one last wooden sap bucket cover that I forgot I had. They are perfect together!

There is something about wooden pieces that I am attracted to! Tool box looks like it had a lock at one time that someone pried off. Maybe they thought there was some treasure hidden inside. The smallest boot jack I have had, only 11 inches long! Love the wooden shoe form, it has great patina, and some relic that has rusty metal on the back and a rusty screen in the center. Not sure what it was, but it's cool!

We just bought a carnival trailer! Lots more fun treasures to come. Included in the sale was this huge roulette wheel. It stands 8 feet tall and is 4 feet in diameter. Very cool! Also in the trailer were these awesome vintage clown heads. They were used in the water squirting game where you shoot the water into the clown's mouth. I just love these guys! Each one is different. Clown heads are approx. 10 inches high.

What a beautiful old book! This is big, 4 inches thick. Commentary on the Old and New Testament by Jamieson, Fausset, and Brown. Lovely illustrations using engravings. In very good condition considering it's age!

Metal egg box

I can't tell you how many times I have been outbid on these! I love the look of them, and don't see too many come up at auction. Well, I finally snagged one! Measures 12 by 6-1/4 by 6-1/4. Would hold 3 dozen eggs. Cardboard insert on bottom is a little rough, but the top layer is in good condition. Comes with two eggs!

That face! He is so adorable! This is Napoleon or Junior the baby goat. Bob the sheep has taken an interest in this little guy, and if I pet Junior, Bob keeps a close eye on me! They share a stall at night, and Junior probably stays nice and warm with all that wool! The other goats are being a little territorial, but seems everyone is getting along pretty well!

Antique clown shoes!

Handmade one of a kind antique clown shoes. These are so funky! The leather is in excellent condition and is attached to the wood sole with small tacks. The sole is worn smooth. I can't imagine trying to wear these. They must have had to slide along the floor. I found one other pair
online that were similar and those were circa 1930's so I am guessing these are about the same age. The entire shoe measures 24 inches long! You could be the only one to own a pair of these!

This is one of my favorite finds! I just love the look of it. Made of wood with a steel rim wheel. Most likely a surveying tool for measuring distance. This has traces of black paint on the handle. Excellent condition. The wheel diameter measures 31 inches and the handle is 47 inches long. I think it makes a wonderful hanging display!

Large galvanized bucket has a hinged lid which covers a hand operated pump. I believe this would have been used to carry water into a field and used for some sort of rinsing, or washing. What a great look! measures 33 inches tall.

Cool field scale in carrying box

At first it looks like just an unassuming wooden box with carrying handle but inside is the cool scale which hangs from a hook inside the cover. These were carried into the field and used for weighing things such as gold. This was manufactured by W. & L.E. Gurley, Troy, NY. The Gurleys business started in the mid 1850's. This is a very unusual and interesting scale.

We just brought Bob the sheep home on Monday night. He is such a sweetheart, and is already fitting in so nicely with his friends, Missy and Horns the goats. He adores Missy and follows her everywhere. She is sweet too, and I think she likes having another guy around! Because of Bob's dreadlocks, everyone thinks we should add Marley to his name, so he is now officially Bob Marley or just Bob, or Marley! We love him! In the middle picture you can see Horns checking him out through the window of the barn!

This is amazing! Old wooden divided crate with wide dove tail joins has the name Lt. Col. K.A. Hunton Epping NH on one side. I did some research and he was in the Civil War. He is listed as leading the company of Michigan engineers at The Battle of Mill Springs in Kentucky. I find it so fascinating that this very box probably traveled around with him, and then returned back to NH! Measures 20 inches by 28 inches by 10-1/4 inches deep. Great piece of NH history!

I would have to drape wet hats, gloves, mittens and scarves all around the woodstove to get them dry quickly so they could head back out later. Just can't get enough of these. Usually as fast as they come in, they go right back out! This one has a green painted bottom fitted in on top of the actual wooden slatted bottom. I think they were trying to keep the nails and things from going through the slats. The painted board could be removed if desired. It is so much fun to decorate this beautiful window for the changing seasons. Anyone who comes in after 4 pm now that it gets dark so early comments on how pretty the window looks all lit up! I am just hoping the snowflakes don't attract the real kind! Not just yet anyway. Short aluminum toboggan, and a golden angel that came from Connecticut. This was at an automotive swap meet! Also hanging above the window some pretty red and white childrens skis.

Can you guess what this was in its previous life before I repurposed it as a planter full of greens and berries? I added a knob to a hole in the front for whimsy. Well, if you can't figure it out, it was the old wooden back of a toilet tank! I believe it had a copper tank liner that would hold the water. It has a great look, and a pretty funny story to go with it!

This galvanized tub belongs to my friend Sue. I love it and think it would make such an eyecatching display for someone. I have had a skeleton with cowboy boots in it, a scarecrow, and now it is ready for Santa to take his bath! His clothes are laid out and he has his brush, shower gel, towel, and bath fizz. Santa's suit is not for sale, sorry! I sometimes dress up a mannequin in the suit, so I am not ready to part with it yet, but the tub is available and ready to go to its new home!

My friends Donna and Al have at least one birdhouse decorating their beautiful primitive house. I guess I never thought of bringing one inside to decorate, but I thought it looked amazing sitting on a cupboard. When I saw this, I thought of theirs and had to have it! Love the old red paint. It was full of a bird nest too, but after discovering mice in one of my bird houses, I decided I had better empty this one out!

They love to come to work with me (as long as the store is closed!) Sasha is on the left, black, and Aspen is on the right, golden. Believe it or not, Sasha is the mom. She had ten pups and all of them were different. Some were short haired, some long, some all black, some gold, and the little runt looked like a Jack Russell terrier. Go figure! We fostered her and her pups after she had been abandoned and we kept her and her son, Aspen.

Russian pedal car

My husband and I fell in love with this wonderful little car. It has an emblem that indicates it was made by the Lenin Youth Communist Factory. The emblem on the front grill reads A3VK. The Lenin Youth Communist Factory was so named in 1969 but had been in business under different names. So this tells us that the car was made after 1969. It is mostly constructed of metal with hard rubber tires, and the steering linkage turns the wheels. It also has wiring for lights, but we do not have the battery, so we don't know what type of battery it would have had. Missing the windshield and a tail light lens. Also, one of the headlight lenses has been replaced, but it is not a match for the other headlight. Still a very cool and collectible little pedal car. Unusual find!

Cedarized wooden chest

What a great distressed look this has. It was covered in wallpaper or some other kind of paper and it has peeled off here and there in spots, so it almost looks like chippy paint. Inside the tag reads MOTHEX a "cedarized" chest. Measures 30 by 14 inches and 12 inches high. This is one of Corrine's wonderful finds.

We went with a log cabin or lodge theme this year. The ornaments are all for sale. Log cabins, bears, clip on birds, fishing creels, snowshoes and skis! Kate worked on this while she was watching the store on Saturday for us. I think she did a beautiful job!

We had two old horse stall doors, and my daughter wanted to incorporate one into her room in some way. I asked my talented friend Wayne if he could build her a cupboard out of one of the doors. He did, and I loved it so much, I had him build this one as well. Perfect gift for the horse lover in your family! Made from rough cut lumber and the old door. Even has the horse's nameplate above the door. Two shelves for storage. Measures 39 inches wide by 42-1/4 inches tall and is 14 inches deep.

This was in the store several months ago, but I moved it into storage for lack of space. Well, it's back.........! I love it out in the middle of the room as opposed to up against the wall where it wasn't showing it's full potential. Great graphics on one end reads Eureka Butter Worker made in Bellows Falls, VT. Patent date 1886. It measures 59 inches long by 22-1/2 inches wide and stands 25-1/2 inches tall.
