The top of the butterworkers table has smooth even boards. Freshly churned butter would be turned onto the table and a roller would go back and forth. The buttermilk would drain into one end of the table, and salt could also be added into the butter. The roller for this table is missing, not that anyone would probably be using this to make massive quantities of butter these days!
