You may remember our fireplace cupboard?

We had this fireplace cupboard for way too long, and it just wasn't selling. As much as I hated to repurpose this piece that was from the 1800's, it was time for plan B! We took the door off and dismantled the whole thing. I removed all the old square nails and we trimmed the boards down so they were squared off. The old cupboard was wedge shaped and originally built into the wall. We reused all the old boards and painted the old rough cut boards on the outside with a seafoam green and then finished it with a dark stain. Interior shelves we left as is. We now have a great little repurposed cubby unit. This measures 24-1/2 by 9 inches and stands 30 inches tall. SOLD!
